Toolkit on Fundamental Principles

The 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Fundamental Principles held in 2015 featured a multiplicity of events to reflect on their practical significance for the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and to find ways to further promote and apply them. The events included six regional workshops, a celebratory event held in Vienna on 7-8 October 2015 and a dedicated plenary commission at the 32nd International Conference. In order to keep the spirit of the 50th anniversary alive, and to build on the important discussions held and materials developed throughout 2015, a toolkit on Fundamental Principles was elaborated. It aims at providing practical tools for National Societies to conduct workshops and can be used as part of training activities at national or regional meetings in order to engage in more frequent discussions on the challenges and good practices in applying the Fundamental Principles.
